Notice to Canada Land Surveyors - Notice 2007-1
Registration and Land Use Area Plans Chapter D5
Coming in force: February 15, 2007
I am pleased to enact, effective February 15, 2007, new General Instructions for Registration and Land Use Area Plans.
A copy of the new instructions is available at: http://clss.nrcan.gc.ca/clss/standards-normes/chaps?chap=d5&v=3
These standards were developed through a consultative process with stakeholders, including the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors.
In general, the amendments provide for:
- The incorporation of new requirements for the various survey products allowed under the Framework Accord between the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development (DIAND) and the Department of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan); and
- New specimen plans that provide better clarity for showing information on Registration Plans and Land Use Area Plans including Global Positioning System (GPS) data, reduced field notes, partial monumentation and registration plans with or without field note information.
